We are not advocates of quick-fix solutions or fad gimmicks when it comes to weight loss and maintenance. Instead, we want to provide you with proven tools to help you improve your lifestyle, your health, and your state of mind. Good nutrition is a crucial element to helping prevent disease and contributing to a long and healthy life. We know that your life is a busy one, and focusing on health and fitness can often take a backseat to the daily pressures of work and family. Unfortunately, many of us don’t give much thought to our health until the unexpected happens and we are diagnosed with a health-related disease such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, high cholesterol, high-blood pressure, and more. It may feel as though getting sick is out of your control, but actually, there is much that can be done nutritionally to protect against many of these illnesses, and certainly good nutrition can help reduce the odds that you will one day suffer from them. There are no promises, of course, but what you eat provides fuel and essential nutrients to your body and if no concern is taken to ensure that your diet is nutritionally sound, you are putting yourself at greater risk.
In this blog, we will attempt to cover a variety of nutrition related topics from child nutrition all the way up to nutrition for the elderly. We will discuss controversial issues as well as well-established beliefs. We won’t always reach a conclusion, as there are many areas of nutritional science that are in debate, but we will try to present accurate information as well as reference resources for you to investigate. Nutrition is very much a science, and this is why information seems to change so frequently. As more research is conducted, new conclusions are reached and some old conclusions may be thrown out. Just because it is an ever-changing field, don’t become discouraged. Educate yourself and continue to maintain a healthy, balanced diet with the information at your disposal and it will do much to keep you healthy and strong.
